Chapter 27:Back in the Palace

Right after she learned of Kodia's departure, Chenoa attempted to contact her soon to be husband through their psychic link. After searching for him for awhile, she recieved one message...

"I love you and Heion, my love..."

Then there is no more. Chenoa tried to make contact with him again, but she cannot... She cannot even feel his energy anymore.

Chenoa cried out in anguish over this development and fell back on to the bed in tears. Hotaru attempted to comfort Chenoa, but all in vain as the woman continues to sob over her love.

"What's wrong with Daddy, Mommy? Where is he?" Heion asked innocently, unaware of what had happened.

And all Chenoa could do was cry more.

No one can seem to do anything but stand there and watch her suffer for awhile. They're all too confused and speechless to even think straight. Finally, Yahara speaks up, "Chenoa... I don't really know what to say, but I do know that Kodia wouldn't have left without a plan and now we make one ourselves... Wh-"

However, he is interrupted by the chime of the communicator, a device he has had bad experiences with before and one he will continue to suffer from in the future. Chenoa answers hers, and has a brief conversation with Pluto, explaining what has happened. The woman promises that she'll be arriving home soon, and then signs off.

Yahara once again speaks up, suggesting that someone goes with him to find the king and queen and let them know what's happening. Minako quickly agrees (and makes doubly sure that no one else comes along) and the two set off...

Once in the hall, and well out of ear shot, Yahara had suddenly decided to go back into his snide mode, "Subtle. Real subtle,"

Minako sweatdropped and said, "Subtlety is not my strong point, okay? Besides, they really should stay with Chenoa right now... You saw how bad she was in there..." her voice suddenly grew quiet with the memory.

Yahara nodded despondently and sighed, exasperated with himself, "Why didn't I stop him? An idiot should have picked up on what he was planning!"

"Don't even start." Minako said softly, "He would have gone regardless. Granted he could have taken someone with him, but how do we know the same thing wouldn't have come about? Of course, he shouldn't have gone in the first place and just waited until everyone got back... Even form a plan... but what's done is done. And we'll just have to get him out of there (wherever that is) before anything happens. Now let's go find the king and queen,"

Yahara had just nodded slightly in response, and Minako knew she had probably done little or no good. She gently took a hold of Yahara's hand and the two began to search the castle for the two royals...
