Chapter 30: The Power of the Ancients

Meanwhile, back at the Medical Wing on the moon...

Still very upset, Chenoa tried to regain her composure. After breathing deeply for a few moments, she felt as though she were almost completely calmed.

Chenoa looked over at Heion who is standing beside her bed holding the hand with the amethyst ring that Kodia gave her on it. Then Chenoa notices something out of the ordinary... Or perhaps back to normal...

The stone on her arm band had reformed after Kodia gave her the engagement ring, but now, it shined and glimmered with a new radiance.

'Just how strong is my precious child to be able to heal me completely?' Chenoa thought silently.

Chenoa felt that with the help of Heion, she had regained most if not all of her powers at long last. So without a second thought, she decided to get out of bed and go after Kodia herself. However, she does realize that she cannot go alone... And she certianly can't leave Heion alone after the near miss with the Shades earlier.

Chenoa sat up, smiling down at her daughter gently. Then she turned her gaze towards Hotaru and said, "Hotaru, would you come with me please? I need to take Heion back to the room so she can get cleaned up. And I myself need to change clothes."

Hotaru looked at Chenoa oddly for a moment or two, but then she quickly realized what Chenoa really wanted out of this excursion. She nodded and said, "Sure Chenoa. I'll come with you."

Chenoa got out of the bed, and took Heion's hand. Hotaru followed the two as they leave the Medical Wing, just waiting for one of the others to say a word... But for some reason, they remain silent as the three walk out.

As soon as they're out of earshot, Hotaru asked Chenoa if she was sure about doing this. After all, the woman had been unable to transform since she gave birth to Heion, but Chenoa countered by saying that she no longer even needed to transform to use her powers... But that she cannot go alone, and she cannot leave Heion either.

After explaining all that, Hotaru noticed that they were heading towards the Castle of Ancients, located on the Sea of Tranquility (practically right next door to the Lunar Crystal Palace on the Sea of Serenity). The Senshi of Death and Rebirth furrowed her brow and asked, "Why are we going to the Castle Chenoa?"

"There is a talisman there that Kodia used to wear." Chenoa explained without missing a beat, "It amplifies the power of the ancients."

Hotaru nearly tripped over her own feet with shock. She stared at Chenoa, unmoving for a few moments before she found her voice, "AMPLIFIES?! You mean it will make you three even stronger?"

Chenoa merely nodded as the make their way to the Castle...

They reach the Castle a short time later. After seeing a shadow in the window, Chenoa instructed Hotaru to go around the other side and make sure everything was all right... Unfortunately, it almost proved disasterous when Chenoa did not realize exactly where Hotaru was and nearly attacked her.

After Heion made another one of her usual comments, the two warriors of Saturn stare at each other in embarressment over the whole situation. Just then, a voice interrupted their thoughts...

"I am glad you finally came. I have been waiting."

At first, not even Chenoa recognzied who it was and thought that it was another one of Void's leftover minions. But it is Heion who realized that it was none other than Sen'ou... He quickly explained that he was none other than the father of Neo Queen Serenity, and brother to Kodia. he went on to explain that Heion knew of him only through the dreams she has had where he and Peace have appeared to her.

After all of that is out of the way, Saturn stepped forward, confused about just one more thing. "You said you were waiting for us, Sen'ou. Why?"

Sen'ou told her that he had something to give both Heion and Chenoa. He motioned to the table nearest then, where the mother and daughter found two medallions sitting there.

Chenoa turned back to Sen'ou, now having mroe questions than before. "What are these for, if I may ask."

"Well, those medallions will help both of you. The medallion for Heion will help her to harness and control her growing powers. The medallion for you will allow you to have a direct link to the Castle of the Ancients. Using it, you can regain all the powers you have lost with the birth of little Heion. As a matter of fact you may even grow in power as time progresses." Said Sen'ou.

Chenoa and Heion put their respected medallions on, satisfied with the explanation. Chenoa could feel her strength return the moment it was around her neck. She smiled and called out, "Eternal Power Make Up!"

Chenoa transforms once again into Eternal Warrior Faithfullove.

Just then, there was a very loud crash, announcing the rather unexpected arrival of Makoto and Artemis. It seems that they decided to follow Chenoa and Heion back to the Castle of the Ancients after she left them in the Med Ward. Chenoa was rather annoyed by this development, but their presence reminded her of why she came there to begin with. However, when she asked Sen'ou for the talisman, he regretfully told her that it was broken when he joined with Peace.

So now there is nothing she can do...

Sen'ou sensed her grief and feelings of despair, and he knew that he must not remain silent. "Chenoa, you are the most powerful senshi in the solar system. You are more powerful than even my daughter. Not even Lady Serenity will reach the power you have. You have been blessed to be born of the power of Saturn and to be an Ancient. You can do this without the help of his talisman."

Chenoa shook her head, not believing in him or herself. She put her head in her hands and cried out, "I am not as strong as you believe! I am weak... All I can do is what my heart leads me to do."

"My dear, that is what makes you strong."

Chenoa looked up at Sen'ou with a puzzled look, but before she can ask him what he meant by that, he fades away.

Sen'ou's words did not help Chenoa much because they still confused her, but Artemis quickly made it clear for Kodia's sake. He reminded her that she was not alone, and that all this time spent talking was putting Kodia's life in more danger. They all quickly decide that it is high time that they left for Earth...

Chenoa, Saturn, and Heion begin to head down to the Shuttle Bay while Makoto and Artemis wrap up a few last minute things...

As they were walking, Faithfullove slowed down while Saturn and Heion kept going, not noticing the absence of their comrade. She could have sworn that she felt something...

Like Kodia trying to contact her.

Just then, she felt Kodia's weak pressence and heard his voice through their link, "Love... I am in an old police precinct building in Crystal Tokyo... Please hurry... Sarah is in danger..."

Faithfullove suddenly felt a sharp pain rip through her temple as Kodia's voice faded away from her grasp. She almost fell to her knees, wavering in her step.

"Faithfullove, what's wrong?" Saturn called out as she ran to her, noticing not all was well with Heion right behind her.

"Kodia..." she began, "He was able to talk to me for a brief moment. He is in an abandoned building... an old police precinct in Crystal Tokyo." Her transformation almost faded away at that point, but the moment that she grasped the medallion it reformed. She also noticed that the pain in her head was gone and she could at last speak clearly. "He said something about Sarah being in danger."

"Sarah? I thought she was here." Saturn said.

Heion perked up and said, "Sarah isn't on the moon anymore, Mommy."

Faithfullove stared at her daughter, who amazed her more and more every day. "Okay..." she said, trepidation growing within her.

"We have to get to the Shuttle Bay. Now."
