Chapter 32: A Mission in Mind

As the Saturnian warriors head down to the Shuttle Bay, Usagi decided thats he was not hungry after all so she and Mamoru quickly went down there as well. Once they reached the area, Usagi called Setsuna to find out how close they were to arriving, when she suddenly got a very bad feeling about Minako...

Given what had just happened, she was more than justified.

Usagi cut off the conversation with Setsuna to call Minako, and was quite surprised to find Yahara staring back at her... Especially since she did not even realize that he was back. After he explained what was happening, Yahara cut her off at a rather awkward point.

Just then, the shuttle from Earth finally arrived.

During the short trip back to the moon, Mars was anxious to see her daughter after all this time. But as they near the castle, she realized that she is getting no nearer to her daughter's spirit, but farther away. However, she told herself that she was imaginging things and that she must just be tired... After all it had been a very long day.

When they arrived, they were greeted by the king and queen, and Mars' first mistake was mentioning the fight within the first few seconds after they landed. Usagi paled considerably cried, "There was a battle? No one was injured, were they?"

Mars sighed and said, "No, everyone is fine. It wasn't really a battle, it was just a little fight. Nothing to get all upset about."

The Queen seemed to understand that it was nothing to be upset about, but she still looked shaken. Rei quickly detransformed and began walking home with the others. Once again, she was expecting to feel Sarah's aura near by... But still, nothing changed...

So Rei qent back to the Shuttle Bay where she had left Usagi, hoping that maybe she knew something. Sadly, she did not know anything about Sarah's whereabouts as Usagi had just found out about the hostage switch a little while ago. Then Rei noticed that Neo Queen Serenity seemed troubled about something as well.

"Usagi is everything all right? You seem upset about something..."

Before Usagi can answer, Faithfullove, Heion, and Sailor Saturn arrive. They quickly tell Rei that Sarah had gone back to Crystal Tokyo and ask if she would like to accompany them. Rei agrees without missing a beat, transforming again and then settling back into the shuttle, praying that her daughter is all right...

"Why are waiting?" Rei half asked, half snapped after about thirty seconds of not going anywhere. She was starting to get a really bad feeling about her only child... again.

Saturn smiled, feeling sympathy for the woman and said, "We promised we'd wait for Makoto and Artemis... Don't worry, I'm sure they'll be along any minute..."

And speaking of Makoto and Artemis...

The two had gone back to the castle and then off to the home she shared with Motoki and her... "precious" daughters. Makoto quickly scribbled a quick note and left it on the table.

Motoki,

Went with some of the senshi to Earth. We're going to get Kodia back. He gave himself up to the shades in exchange for Sarah. Don't worry, I'll be fine. I'll see you when I get home.

Not wanting to keep the group waiting, Makoto ran as fast as she could to the shuttle bay. About half way there, Artemis turned to her and aksed, "Was I really needed?"

Makoto stopped running and pondered if for a moment. After a time she nodded and said, "Yes..." she sighed, "I don't know what it is. Rei's the one who always gets strange feelings. I don't know why I'm getting one all of a sudden." She paused, chewing on her lower lip. "Do you think this could be some sort of trap to lure Chenoa?"

She started moving again, but slower than before. "I'm still going, and I'm still going to help. But, I just have a really bad feeling about this. I figured I'd tell you. You always know what to do..."

Artemis snorted and said, "Hardly. I just make it look like I know everything. Really I just repeat everything Luna tells me," he chuckled for a minute, but then considered Makoto's words... and realized with a sinking heart that she might be right. He sighed and said, "You know that might be a possibility. But I think if we are prepared we can handle it like we always have."

She thought this over for a moment, and soon smiled slightly, saying, "I guess you're right Artemis, as always," she laughed in spite of herself, "We're as ready as we'll ever be! And we're going to kick some shade ass!"

Makoto noticed that Artemis grew silent.

"Is something wrong, Artemis?" she asked as they neared the shuttle bay.

"Well..." he began.

"Spit it out."

"I have a strong feeling that Minako is in some trouble, and I feel badly that I am not at her side. I hope Yahara is taking good care of her in my absence. What do you think Makoto?"

"I'm sure she's okay," Makoto replied, picking up her pace. "She made sure that no one came with her when she left sick bay with him. I'm sure she just wanted to have some time alone with him. They're probably fine."

Makoto ran the rest of the way to the shuttle bay, Artemis at her side.

"Sorry guys, but I thought I should let Motoki know I was going. He worries sometimes if I don't tell him I'm going." Makoto shrugged and sat down behind Heion next to Mars. Seeing that everyone was transformed, Makoto quickly followed suit and changed to Jupiter.

After awhile, Makoto's daughters get on board (only because their mother dragged them on board after a small scuffle between the two, once again stemming from Irene feeling ignored). Shortly thereafter, Usagi came on board.

Once everyone was settled, Faithfullove was ecstatic to see that the shuttle was full. She quickly set the gears into motion and said, "That's it guys. We aren't wasting another second. Let's go take care of a few loose ends..."

As the shuttle took off, Faithfullove only had one thing on her mind... and it was identical to just about every one else's thoughts.

'Please let them be all right...'
