After the call, each of the Senshi quickly made their way to the Med Ward. Predictably, Minako and Yahara looked quite paranoid at the prospect of the Generals returning... They doubted it was a coincidence with Hebi's arrival. Still, they kept their suspicions to themselves. Mostly because they knew everyone else shared them and neither one of them was altogether fond of stating the obvious. After everyone had arrived, Hotaru quickly relayed what she could of what Rei had told her. Apparently, she had some kind of dream about the Generals returning... And because Rei was a clairvoyant and she rarely ever had pointless nightmares, and when she did she certainly did not react like that, Hotaru had decided that perhaps there was some merit to it. Just then Heion burst into the room, and went right to Minako, whose back was to the wall. "Minako! Minako! Somebody's coming!" The blonde's face went white and suddenly a silence fell over the once noisy room. She cleared her throat uncomfortably, hating being the center of attention for the first time in her life. She bent down to Heion's level and softly said, "Who? Who's coming Heion?" "I don't know but..." Heion's eyes suddenly widened, "Minako, somebody is here!" There was not a four letter word that had been invented that quite described what Minako felt at that very moment. "Insightful little thing, isn't she?" Hebi called out, making sure he attracted everyone's attention. "Really Venus, I didn't think you'd be so surprised... After all, you and your precious fiancé expected me to show up to contest the wedding did you not?" Hebi got an extreme shot of self satisfaction at the look of shock that crossed their faces. Yahara was about to ask just how he knew that when Hebi interrupted. "Please Mysterio... I am your dear Venus's "stalker" as you two so nicely put it... What kind of stalker would I be if I didn't know every thing she did... And I do mean everything..." Yahara reddened with fury at the implication and called upon his Soul Sword. He was about to rush Hebi when Venus grabbed his arm and stopped him from doing anything, whispering something to her lover that Hebi could not hear. "Oh so you think you want to fight me do you?" Hebi threw his head back and laughed. "Odd, how you're so brave now, but you were standing against a wall. Scared I'd stab you in the back were you? Or maybe you were just worried about your cherished Venus... Well, you needn't have worried ... I'd much rather stab her in the front... Watch her eyes register the pain and be shocked at her life literally flowing out of the wound... The gorgeous crimson liquid staining the once pure white fuku and running down her body... Her eyes slowly rolling back into her head... And all the while, her never believing she was actually dying..." "Enough!" Yahara and Usagi shouted in the same breath. "You know Venus," Hebi continued, ignoring the reprimand. "If you keep clenching your fists like that... they might bleed..." Venus immediately realized what he was talking about, and her face paled even more. "Ah, so you remember that... I'm not surprised. Your face was so streaked with blood; it did look like the blood was your tears... "Or maybe you'll just have another nervous breakdown... Like you did when you found that dead maid. And you thought it was Yahara? I am so glad that little trick worked out as I expected it too..." Hebi frowned with displeasure at the thought of what else had happened that day. "Of course, your lord showed up before I could do anything... Why you'd think he were psychic wouldn't you?" By this time, Venus had lost her composure and she was crying, literally begging him to stop what he was doing. She fell to her knees and hugged herself, shaking her head over and over again. He trusted the memories he had sent her were replaying in her mind making the situation all that much worse. Hebi smiled again and looked back to the others, wondering why none of them had done nothing but gawked. "Really I thought you'd at least try and protect her... I did think she was your friend... But then maybe she's right and you don't care about her..." "Shut up!" Venus cried, speaking up for the first and last time for the evening. Hebi sent her a reprimanding look that made Venus immediately draw back a few feet and her posture wilt. He smirked at his handy work and turned back to the others. "Jupiter, I did expect you to do something besides glare at me... After all, you were the one who promised to keep me from hurting Venus... It's a little late for that don't you think? "And Artemis. Aren't you her guardian? You're doing nothing but standing there... You were at least more animated in the Silver Millennium when you saved her..." Hebi smirked when Artemis did nothing but arch his back. "What's the matter Artemis... Does your dear Luna still have a hold of your tongue?" "I'd at least expect nothing from you..." Hebi said scathingly, turning on the queen. "You didn't have any desire to help her in the Silver Millennium, why now? You knew about me from the beginning and you did nothing... It would have been obvious for everyone else, but not you... I suppose none of you really care for Venus then... "Perhaps I should just take her back with me..." This of course set off a chain of events that was utterly predictable. Women transformed and attacks started flying left and right. Yahara would have liked to jump into the fray, but he was too busy trying to calm Minako down. So instead, he silently cheered the others on, hoping at least one attack would do some amount of good. Finally, Ultimate Warrior Faithfullove arrived, and the battle came to a halt. As always, Hebi knew when it was time to leave. Even a man with his arrogance would not say that he stood a chance right then against her and the other Senshi without any allies. So he took his leave and left them to their own devices. There was silence for a while, as no one was entirely sure what they could say to anyone else. Finally, Minako broke it in the worst way. She said nothing to them, but the quiet was shattered by a strangled sob and the sound of her heals clacking against the floor as she fled them. Yahara remained on the floor for a few moments, looking years older than he actually was before following her out, calling her name. The others remained in the quiet... Because they still didn't know what to do. Submitted by: archives - Hits: 0 Pages Updated On: 5-Jul-2007 - 14:52:51 |
