Meanwhile, Hotaru had gone to the library to see if there was a way to prevent Hebi from teleporting directly into the palace. Something had to be done about him as it was obvious that Minako certainly was not equipped to handle this... Then again, Hotaru didn't think anyone would really be able to handle this gracefully, so she didn't dwell on that. She just threw herself into her work... So much so, that she didn't even notice Makoto come in. "Oh come on, there has to be a way to track or prevent these things." Hotaru said quietly. "There really isn't. A way to prevent them I mean. People have tried for ages, but it takes too much power to harness it. You also have to know the two spaces the portal would be connected to." Makoto replied, seeing that Hotaru was looking at information on teleporting. She then set down the batch of cookies she'd baked on the table. Hotaru jumped a mile and turned around in her seat. "Oh, it's just you. You scared me!" "I didn't mean to scare you. Thought you had heard me come in." Makoto answered. Hotaru nodded in acknowledgment and then gestured for Makoto to sit beside her. She took one and took a sip of her Cafe Mocha as the two began to talk and soon Hotaru brought up the issue of Hebi. Makoto shuddered thinking about him. "Well anyways, if there's not really anyway to harness it, how are we going to fix the Hebi problem?" Makoto replied with the first words that came to her mind. "Kill him?" Hotaru laughed then became serious. They discussed different ways of harnessing energy and finally they came up with the perfect idea. A plot was definitely in the making between the two Senshi. Makoto, however, knew that the two of them couldn't pull this off alone. "Do you think we should bring this up with the rest of the Senshi?" "No!" Hotaru exclaimed as Makoto took out her communicator. "We can't inform them until the last part of the plan is in place. Otherwise they'll try to stop us saying it's too dangerous. "The first thing we need to set up is discovering the coordinates of Hebi's plane that he's jumping from. We'll do that by one of us following him through his portal with a tracker that can be traced by a computer. Then the other one of us will trace the plane with the computer. As soon as it's traced the Senshi with Hebi will form her own portal to get back." Hotaru stopped again. Makoto nodded following her plan. "What about the spell to hold the portals out once we have the power? Where are we going to find that?" Makoto asked. "I think I can handle that. I'll do some research on Opal power patterns. See which one holds the most power. Then I'll just make it up as I go along huh?" Hotaru answered. Makoto looked doubtful. "I'll help you research some more portals before you go making up stuff," she said. "Let's get started. I'll go get some more cookies to help us work," Makoto said getting up. "Good we'll need them," Hotaru said while picking up another cookie. Makoto left and Hotaru started up the portal chip once again taking rapid notes with new purpose and vigor. Makoto did not come back for awhile, having been held up by her husband for a talk. During the time that passed, Minako and the others arrived home. Luna had seen what Venus looked like, and she was quite worried about it... So she had immediately gone to find someone to help track her down. By some coincidence, she ran into Hotaru and asked for her help. Hotaru, hoping for an opportunity to get Hebi, called Makoto, who was less than enthusiastic about the timing. They got into a little but of a tiff on the subject, before Makoto reluctantly agreed to do her part to appease her... But she wasn't really sure of herself despite her words. So she decided to go see the one person she thought could help. Hikari. "Hikari?" she called out softly. "Are you in there? I need to talk to you..." "Eh? Oh, come in Mako-san! What seems to be the trouble?" Hikari asked brightly. "Hotaru and I have had a bit of a tiff. She has this plan to track Hebi," Makoto explained. "We decided that we wouldn't tell any of the senshi, and she's going to be pissed that I just told you. Well, her plan is to track him, I believe by using a little bit of each senshi's power inside an opal. I'm not really sure of all the particulars myself. Well, when the alert came out that Minako was missing, she immediately thought we should go through with the whole thing. I told her it wasn't ready and she got extremely upset with me." Makoto began to talk faster and the words flowed from her. "But, for some reason I knew I had to speak with you about this. Hotaru's ticked that I backed out on her." Makoto paused and looked at Hikari. "I have a feeling we may need your help ... if you're willing." "Mako-san, I'm glad you told Hotaru to wait on the tracking. You are absolutely right! The Planet Chiron, where Hebi is located, is very mysterious, and it is very perilous for those who have never been there. I would be more than happy to assist you with your plans. "And as for how to do it... I have a different and much safer way to track things, if you don't mind... I'll explain everything later. Right now, I'm going to go do a little research on the matter..." And with that they parted ways, both of them feeling that something was being accomplished... something that would prove very useful indeed. It might just be the deciding factor in this war.
