Chapter 14a: Confusion

Chenoa slowly awakens. She looks around, and realizes she is not in the Palace. It is dark, and smells dank and musty. What did they do give me up for dead? Chenoa wonders. Chenoa then looks to her right, and sees a shadowy figure standing there.

Hey! Who are you!? She feels somewhat dizzy, and yelling made her side hurt even more. The figure leaves, and Enmity comes in. He walks over to his sister, and kisses her on the cheek. Just behind him is the shadowy figure watching.

Chenoa, I am glad your awake. I have somebody that really wants to see you. He has waited a long time. Enmity motions over to the shadowy figure. Slowly this mysterious person walks towards Chenoa. As he comes out of the shadows Chenoa sees who it is.

KODIA! Is it really you? She bolts out of bed, as she does she feels incredible pain in her side that causes her to pass out. Enmity catches her, and picks her up in his arms. As he holds on to his sister Enmity drops his transformation. He carries her to a nearby chair, and sits with her in his lap.

For the first time since they were released Joshua felt remorse. I am sorry, but I had to get the upper hand. For some reason, although we share injuries we do not have the same healing rate. I knew I had to get you out of the palace, because I know how stubborn you are. You would get up and start moving as soon as you could, not as soon as you should. Then causing more injury, not only to you, but to me as well.

For this reason I brought Kodia here so you would know that this is where you belong. The entire time Joshua has Chenoa in his lap he is comforting her like a father would a child. The love between the two siblings is great. It hurts him to think that they might have to fight one another.

Joshua caresses her cheek. Chenoa, are you okay? He finally decides that she needs more rest. He slowly picks her up and carries her into the adjoining room. My Lord, You shouldn’t be carrying her, Mysterio says, as he drops his illusion of Kodia. Your ribs are still injured.

As he stands he feels new strength, as if he was drawing it from his proximity to Chenoa. He turned to Mysterio. Actually they haven’t hurt since I caught her as she collapsed. Isn’t that odd? Mysterio helps Joshua lay Chenoa down on the couch. Did you get the tea I asked for Mysterio? Mysterio hands Joshua the tea, then leaves the room.

While Joshua is taking great pains to make the tea and prepare something to eat for Chenoa, Wicked Lady comes in and goes into a fit of rage. What is she doing here!? You said you would have Mysterio take her somewhere else! While Joshua and Wicked Lady argue, Chenoa awakens. Eternal Power, she says weakly, nothing happens.

Chenoa looks at her arm band and sees that the gem is busted. Must have happened when I took that blast. Chenoa thinks of what she can do. Maybe? It's worth a try, Healing Shower! Just as Chenoa, shouts the phrase Wicked Lady turns towards her.

Suddenly a shower of energy leaps from Chenoa, and envelops Wicked Lady, absorbing a lot of her energy. Wicked Lady collapses from the energy drain. Ahh, That feels much better. Chenoa grins as she moves herself to get comfortable. As she does she winces in pain. Ouch, my ribs. as she settles in a comfortable position she looks towards Joshua who seems puzzled.

How did you do that without transforming? Joshua asked. I don’t know, Chenoa says. What I do know is that my body seems to be changing. A new power is coming. I can feel it. Joshua thinks. I am afraid I don't feel it sister. He looks towards Mysterio as he re enters the room once again posing as Kodia. He motions for him to come forth so that Chenoa can see him.

Chenoa looks towards Kodia. She gets up and runs to him, throwing her arms around his neck. The quick movement forces her to lean heavily on him. Ouch! Help me sit down, please. Mysterio posing as Kodia helps Chenoa sit. He looks towards Joshua as if to plea for help.

Joshua realizes that Mysterio is not comfortable having Chenoa hanging on him for some reason. Kodia, I need you to go and get some more tea for Chenoa. Joshua grins, and it seems that Wicked Lady may need some too. He looks to the unconscious Wicked Lady who is still lying on the floor. Oh well, you asked for that. He chuckles out loud.

Chenoa takes in her surroundings and realizes although Joshua has made it so she could heal faster, it is more for his sake, not hers. Chenoa suddenly gets another of her nagging headaches. Can I be alone for a while brother? I have this awful headache, and I really need to rest. I do wonder if that Tea has a side effect or something. She looks around and notices there is only one exit out of the room.

Joshua nods. Of course sister. We will let you rest. The quicker you are better the quicker we can take over the Moon Kingdom! Joshua then turns, and walks out of the room. Mysterio still posing as Kodia comes in, and picks up Wicked Lady so he can take her back to her chambers. He then looks to Chenoa, and says, Things are not always how they look, nor are people. With that said, he leaves the room with the unconscious Wicked Lady.

Chenoa starts thinking about what he said after he has left. Then realizes she didn't feel Kodia’s energy at all. Odd, I would think if that was him, I’d have felt his energy. I wonder. Chenoa concentrates on Peace and tries to contact him telepathically.
