Chapter 19: Time of Confusion

The King sits at the head of the council table as senshi begin to filter in. As he looks at the time he realizes that some of the senshi are running late, one of them is Venus.

In the Gardens of the palace Venus stands with none other than Mysterio. Mysterio takes her hand. Venus, my love. I feel that what Enmity is doing is wrong, and... Venus grasps his hand tighter, and what Mysterio? She asks. Mysterio smiles, you can call me Yahara, Venus. She blushes, as long as you call me by my real name, Minako. Very well...Minako. Yahara's smile soon fades though.

What is troubling you Yahara? Minako urges. Yahara is silent for a bit, then he finally speaks. I want to join you and the senshi against Enmity, but do you think they would trust me? Minako considers this, well we can try, I will bring it up at the senshi meeting. Oh? and when is this meeting? Yahara asks. Minako looks at her watch. OMG! it's starting now, I better go. She gently kisses his cheek, and rushes off.

Sitting on a bench Sailor Aquarius thinks to herself. If I can infiltrate Enmity's network, maybe I can free Ariel, and Taurus. Maybe I can convince them to come back. She stands and begins walking, as she does she realizes that she is not alone. Alright! whoever you are! come out! Aquarius is shocked when a small red dragon appears before her. So you have come for me? She asks the dragon. The dragon cocks her head. Well from the way you look your unhappy with what's going on, and I wanted to know where you stood.

Aquarius realizes that this might be her chance to find her way to Enmity. She looks at the dragon with pleading eyes. I don't want to be here anymore...the other senshi don't appreciate me. Ahhh, the dragon replies. And you think that Enmity will? Yes! Aquarius replies, I know he will, please take me to him, and I will prove my loyalty! Very well, the dragon replies, follow me. A portal opens and the dragon leads Aquarius through it, just as Venus comes running by. Aquarius! No! Venus screams, but it's to late, the portal has closed behind her.

Venus rushes to the council chambers, and finds that only half of the senshi are there, but she decides that she better notify them immediately. Everyone! Aquarius has left, and I think she is joining Enmity! Everyone present react with shock, and a mixture of responses, but the King silences them, and turns to Venus. How do you know about this? He asks. Well, she begins. I was on my way here when I seen her with that dragon that hangs around Enmity, well a portal opened and she followed the dragon before I could do anything to stop her!

A voice from the doorway suddenly angers Venus. How do we know your not working for the enemy? Venus whirls around and sees Europa standing there. What are you talking about! Venus demands. Europa shrugs his shoulders. Oh, it seems funny to me that first you allowed the enemy to take Chenoa, and just a while ago I seen you with that Mysterio in the gardens. Venus is shocked, she was sure they were alone when they met. I see from the look in your eyes that you don't deny it! For all we know you arranged for our dear Aquarius to be kidnapped by them!.

This statement by Europa sends Venus into a rage and she rushes forward and strikes the surprised Europa in the jaw with the heel of her hand, sending him to the ground. Never! question my loyalty! She says in a dark tone. Uranus begins laughing, not at Venus's statement, but the undignified Europa on the ground. Venus takes her laughter in the wrong way though. She turns to Uranus. If I were you I would shut up Uranus! Uranus is caught by surprise by Venus's comment, but soon regains her composure as she becomes angered. If you think you can make me shut up go ahead and try!

Venus glares at her and finally out of spite screams out a hateful response. Well I can see why Samantha left us, I mean who would want to stick around after the way you raised her! Uranus is stunned by Venus's statement, but before she can say anything else Venus bolts from the room in tears, passing the arriving Mars, and Mercury. AS Venus flies by them they turn to follow the Senshi of Love to try to console her.

As she rushes out into the garden someone grabs her and pulls her into the bushes. she turns to strike who grabbed her, but stops when she realizes that it is Yahara. She hugs him and begins to sob. Yahara comforts her, and when she composes herself, Venus relates what happened. Yahara takes his hand and lifts her chin, looking into her beautiful eyes. Minako, I have decided to join you, and the others here can either accept me, or not.

This news cause Minako to smile with joy. I have to go collect my things, and I will return. As he rises Minako grabs him. I am coming with you, she says. No Minako, you can't. It is way to dangerous for you. Any more dangerous than you coming here to see me? She counters. Yahara realizes that she has made up her mind. Very well, but do as I say while we are there, ok? Minako nods in agreement. Shall we go? They get up and as they exit the bush Venus almost bumps into Mars, and Mercury.

Minako quickly pushes Mysterio back into the bushes before the other two senshi see him. He falls gently on his butt onto the mulch. What are you doing here? Venus asks the other two, loud enough for Yahara to hear her. Well Mars begins, we seen that you were troubled and we thought we would see if your alright. Minako puts up one of her patented smiles. Oh me? I am fine! just fine! Well got to run, see you later. Before Mars or Mercury can say or do anything else Venus rushes back through the bushes. She quickly grabs Yahara who is in a state of shock, and she drags him toward the shuttle terminal.
