Chapter 05: Painful Memories and Happy Futures

Saporia had been doing nothing but training for the three weeks after Void... Of course she was continually interrupted by Angela's and Kayla's antics, and could get nothing done. Even when they left, Saporia wondered if she'd ever get a moment's peace in order to train...

"How come for the whole 3 weeks they left me alone, but then they just suddenly decide to come?" Saporia sighed. She stretched, and then went to get dressed again. Once she was redressed, she felt sleepy, and began dozing right there in the training room.

It was once again of her brother, Sage's death, her outburst of anger and power which had killed him, her departure into the solitude of space for millennium facilitated by her parents. It all flashed before her again, but more quickly. The swirling of images was blurred, but everything that had happened sank into her mind and soul, deeply and clearly, bringing back the terrible memories.

Saporia's eyes quickly snapped open and she began to breath deeply and heavily, a cold sweat dripping down her face. She calmed down when she realized it was only a dream. Then she closed her eyes once more, and the images came again...

Then Saporia began screaming, begging these memories to stop plaguing her... Finally they did, but she couldn't help but wonder if maybe this was her punishment...

Meanwhile, Minako had just realized what she had wished for, and was berating herself for even thinking such a thing. She got up and suddenly heard shouting from the Training Room. She found Saporia and asked her what was wrong. The girl then explained all of her past, how she had killed her brother at the age of four and her adoptive parents had sent her away... Minako told her it would get better, and some day, it wouldn't hurt as much as it did then...

Then Kayla returned and asked if they knew were Angela was. Neither of them did, and Saporia soon left to go get some food, in much higher spirits then before. Minako told Kayla to try and find Ami or Greg or look in the library.

"Kids probably got her nose buried in a book or some other such nonsense..." Minako mumbled.

"Minako-chan!!! I need you to help me!! We've got so much to plan! Invitations, decorating, bridesmaids!! Come on!!" Usagi cried, running to her friend and hoping that planning for the wedding would cheer her up.

Minako continued conversing with Saporia for a few minutes longer, which made Usagi rather impatient, and she began to tap her foot. Abruptly, Saporia ran out of the Training Room, not seeming, but as though she wanted to be alone.

"Minako! Are you even listening to me?!" Usagi called across the room once more, "I can't plan Chenoa and Kodia's wedding by myself you know!"

Minako winced at the mention of Chenoa and Kodia's wedding, but strengthened her outward resolves for the sake of Usagi and her other friends.

"Of course," she called back, forcing a smile, "The wedding. I can't imagine how I could have forgotten. After all, it was the last thing Peace and I talk--"

This reminded her of another event that haunted her still, the death of Peace. She wondered at her weakness, since even Chenoa seemed to have recovered from it by then.

"Never mind. Forget I said that. And do me a favor and don't mention it to anyone."

Usagi and Kayla stared at her, confused and a little shocked. Finally Minako turned to Kayla and spoke.

"Didn't you say you needed to find Angela for something?" She asked in a most horribly cold voice.

Usagi and Kayla both blanched at her icy tone and Kayla muttered something under breath. Minako almost reprimanded her for that, but decided against. Instead, she went to Usagi, rubbing her temples because of a bad migraine she was getting.

"I'll do anything you want me to Usagi... What is it you need?"

Usagi smiled happily as she began to explain about the wedding.

"Well, I was thinking you could help out with the decorations and invitations and stuff. Mako-chan is doing the food, of course, and Setsuna is making the dress, so that leaves everything else to us. We have to find Chenoa and Kodia and tell them first, though."

Usagi grabbed Minako's hand and rushed off to find the couple. Racing through the Palace, she searched frantically for Chenoa.
