Chapter 07: Its All About Chenoa... And two Strangers

After Setsuna left them, Chenoa turned to Haurka, a little annoyed at her presence, "Okay. What do you want Haruka? And please say we are past the rivalry thing," Chenoa said a little testily.

Haruka apologized for the way she had treated Chenoa and concluded by asking if they could be friends from then on. Chenoa agreed that they should be friends, shaking Haruka's hand.

Then Chenoa cocked her head to the side a bit and got a rather strange look on her face. Suddenly she began shouting.

"KODIA!! Don't you dare try to sneak up on us!" she said in a scolding voice.

Slightly embarrassed that he was caught, Kodia came out from behind some shrubbery and walked towards the three women, telling Chenoa that he simply wanted to be sure they were polite to each other. He must have followed Chenoa from their home and had been sitting their for quite some time...

Then Haruka called Chenoa conceited out of blue, and burst out laughing when the woman got angry. Michiru grabbed Haruka's ear and dragged her off at that point, insisting that they still needed to rest from the battle with Void. Haruka protested but Michiru insists and left Haruka in bed, knowing very well she wouldn't stay but hoping Chenoa wasn't too angry.

Kodia and Chenoa spoke for some time, when Setsuna came back after talking with Usagi and Makoto about the wedding, Heion in tow. Chenoa thanked the woman for watching her, which Setsuna said she did gladly. Then she asked for Kodia to leave, which he did so without complaint.

It was then that Setsuna told Chenoa about Usagi's decision to allow her and Kodia to be wed. Chenoa was in a state of shock, and the words didn't quite hit her for some time. Finally, Chenoa realized this wasn't a dream and rejoiced, but not before Setsuna and her discussed the dress...

Once they were finished, Setsuna remembered two parties that she needed to attend to and left Chenoa. Then the woman took Heion and went back to the Chambers they still held in the palace... Kodia soon joined them, where Chenoa told them about Usagi's decision to allow the marriage to proceed as soon as possible. The two rejoiced, happier then they had been in months.

But naturally, privacy was too much to hope for. Usagi and Minako were still running around searching for the couple... Or rather Usagi was running around, dragging the other blonde around for the ride.

"Where could she be?" she gasped, out of breath.

"Well, you might try her bedroom," Minako replied dryly, you haven't checked there yet."

"Oh yeah, I bet that's where she is!"

She rushed to Chenoa and Kodia's room and knocked on the door, then turning to Minako and smiling widely.

"Won't they be excited when I tell them?"

A moment later Chenoa voice came from inside, "Who is it?" Usagi was so excited she couldn't contain herself, and she squealed in delight. Chenoa swung the door open and jumped out into the hall, re closing it. She was scantily clad in a crop top and a flimsy pair of boxer shorts.

"Um... Chenoa, nice outfit," Minako said, her mouth twisting sarcastically.

"Oops, I forgot to grab my robe. I'll be right back, stay put."

She quickly entered the room again and came back out a moment later clad in her robe and with her hair pulled back into a braid.

"I'm sorry about that," she apologized, "Did you need something?"

Usagi took Chenoa's hand and began to express her gratitude for all the woman's help in the prior months. She was almost telling her that she wanted to see Kodia and her married when Setsuna came by with two strange teenagers and stopped, urgently expressing a need to discuss something with her.

Usagi was unhappy at being interrupted, but she could see that Setsuna had something important to tell her, so she went aside with her.

Chenoa glanced after them, sensing strong energy from the two young ones. She thought to herself, "So odd... I feel the power of Jupiter but also something else."

She excused herself to her room and told Kodia of what she sensed, saying the energy was pure, not evil.

In the meantime, Usagi was introduced to Hitohana, a young woman with long, dark violet hair and brilliant emerald green eyes, and Ichijin, a young man with shoulder-length pale blonde hair and striking blue eyes. Setsuna explained that they were Makoto's grandchildren from the future, sent to the past to train.

Usagi stared thoughtfully at the two newcomers for a moment, then spoke loudly , "Setsuna, please gather the rest of the senshi...the younger ones included. Tell them to come to the place where we usually have our private conferences. Bring Hitohana and Ichijin as well."

She turned then to see that Chenoa and Kodia had returned to their chambers, and decided to wait until another time to give them the good news.

"Your majesty," Usagi turned with a start to face Artemis and Hotaru.

The two told her of strange dreams that Hotaru had been having, dreams of an approaching darkness. Usagi said that they could address in the meeting she had called. That was not all, however. Artemis went on to tell her that Lady Serenity was not in her chambers or anywhere else to be found.

Usagi is shocked, but Setsuna quickly approached them, saying she had suspected something of the sort would happen. She told Usagi it would best to wait until the meeting to discuss it, but she sounded as though she knew more. A single question revealed that Setsuna had a good idea of where the princess might have gone.

Usagi was quite dazed at all the drastic events that were taking place, and stood quietly for a moment, staring blankly into the air before her.

Setsuna comforted her, promising they could have a private conversation once the meeting of the Council was over.

Minako walked by then, telling them she was going to head for the Council Chamber. Usagi called after her, asking her to wait for the others and her. On the way Usagi introduced Hito and Ichi to Minako, realizing it hadn't been done yet.

She hung back a bit before they reached the Chamber, saying she would contact the other senshi. She was further upset when she found that she could not get in touch with Ami, Rei and Haruka.

Had the woman known why, she would have been much more upset then she was...
