Chapter 10: Convening of the Shades

The Sailor Senshi were not the only ones who were working on getting a meeting together... Back on Earth, Circe called a meeting of the shades to order outside the room holding the two captives, "I have called this meeting to order to discuss what we will do. I propose that we move to kidnap the daughter of Eternal Warrior Faithfullove. She seems to have strange powers and I believe that she is very important to those on the moon. Once we have her we will ask for the Silver Crystal for her release, but..."

Bauchus stood immediately, slamming his hand down on the table causing it to shake and crack slightly, "What makes you think she will even go along with that? For all we know the Senshi could be ready to storm this place right now!"

Circe motioned for the shade to sit down, sending him a dark look and making a comment about never being allowed to finish. She made her gaze even more pointed and sinister looking, causing shivers to run up and down even Bauchus' spine.

Then Narcissus asked to speak, "Well I know that the senshi, or at least some of them are in motion at this time. The logical place for them to begin the search would be back at Alcatraz. Why don't we just go there and ambush them. We could destroy them in one attack."

Before Bauchus can agree, Circe shoots Narcissus down, reminding her of what happened to Void... How when he tried to do what she proposed, they had rallied together and defeated him.

The room is silent for a moment, until Morgana timidly asks to speak. Circe motions for her to go ahead, and the woman speaks, saying, "Circe... why... why don't we just ransom the two senshi we have for the crystal? It would seem to be much easier to do."

Circe is exasperated at this point and says, "Oh Morgana... I know you mean well, but think! These two are important, but not important enough to hand over the crystal. No... We need that kid, she has a potential that Void seen before he was destroyed. We need to get that KID!!! Any further questions?"

The Room was silent so that if even one of the shades did have a question, they dared not ask it lest they face Circe's wrath. Circe smiles at the silence and says, "Good! So here is what we will do. We will send a team to the Crystal Palace to get this kid, Heion is her name I believe. that team will consist of myself, Narcissus, and Nyx. A second team will find and track the senshi, the best place to pick them up is on Alcatraz. This team will consist of Sera, and Morgana." Circe gives Sera, who looks completely disinterested in what is happening around her, and tells her, "You are not to engage them for any reason whatsoever! just track them! Do you understand me?"

Sera agreed, but not without a snide lilt in her voice. Circe pressed her, and Sera continued to agree to do as Circe asked...

Suddenly, Bauchus noticed that he had been left out of this little plan of action and said, "Hey! Where do I fit into this?"

Circe smiled slightly, looking forward to giving out this assignment. She looked at Bauchus, still smirking, and said, "You my dear Bauchus will stay here and guard our guests."

Bauchus took on a disgusted look, and was obviously infuriated that he was being shafted and said as much. Circe was not in the mood to deal with with him and shouted, "Listen you Dolt! We need to make sure they don't escape or get rescued. Your job is as important as the rest! So I suggest you chill out!" of course his job was important, but she knew that Bauchus would much rather be out in the field, killing whoever he could get his hands on. She moved back to her chair and then looked at Bauchus again and said, "Oh by the way... if something, and I mean anything happens to our guests while we are away, I will hold you responsible! Then you will have to answer to me! Got it?!"

Bauchus, not wanting to anger Circe anymore than necessary, nodded in agreement and said no more.

Circe smiled and said, "Okay, you all have your assignments... Let's do it!"

All of the shades began to file out of the room. Bauchus went back to his seemingly eternal post in front of Samantha and Sarah's cell door. Circe practically physically dragged Nyx and Narcissus out of the room, explaining her plan of action all the while. Morgana walked out of the room with her arms folded in front of her chest and Sera following close behind her.

Morgana sighed rather loudly and thought, 'Am I the only one that remembers what it was like when we were truly human? Not just inhabitants in these shells?'

Sera brought her out of her thoughts, growling, "Oh that Circe... She is so idiotic. What's the point in becoming human anyway?"

"What’s the point of being a shadow when you can't feel...?" Morgana whispered too quietly for Sera to hear.

"Did you say something?"

Morgana nodded and came up with a quick lie, "I was just saying... We really don't need that kid. Heion I mean,"

"What do you mean? If it gets us the crystal... I thought that you of all people would be volunteering to get the little brat,"

Morgana shook her head softly, "No. They'd give us the crystal without the child. Those two are the daughters of two of the senshi. They'd never leave them here to die... I know it..." Morgana noticed the odd look Sera was giving her and said, "I mean... Well I'd give up anything to save my child or the child of my friend..." Morgana said softly.

Sera snorted and rolled her eyes, "There must be a way to make you normal Morgana..."

'I am normal... I thought that was the problem,' Morgana thought.

"But it really doesn't matter," Sera continued, "Whatever Circe wants, Circe gets. And since she wants humanity to be... mortal... than I guess we don't have a choice." Sera seemed sickened at the thought of being mortal and then continued, saying, "I hate how she treats us like we're her slaves at her beck and call to do whatever she wants of us. It's disgusting. I feel like a flippin’ dog half of the time,"

Morgana smiled sympathetically and put a comforting hand on Sera’s shoulder, "Circe only wants what’s best for us... You shouldn’t hate her for it,"

Sera gave Morgana a disgusted look and shrugged her off angrily, "Whose side are you on anyway?" then she turned around and stalked off, murmuring something about getting to Alcatraz.

Morgana stared at Sera’s back for a moment and shook her head sadly, "Whoever can make me human... That’s the side I’ll be on..."
