Chapter 16: Back at Alcatraz
Sailor Pluto, Neptune, Aquarius, Callisto, Orchid, Storm, Celestial Starshine and the cat Diana all trudged down the hallway in the direction of the shuttle bay. Along the way, the Chibi Senshi all began to become acquainted with these strange newcomers. They became fast friends and continued to get to know one another on the trip to Alcatraz, while the older senshi remained silent. When they arrives, they all began to file out and head in separate directions.
Little did any of them know that they were still being watched by the two shades, Sera and Morgana. Right after Sera had run off, she had begun to look around for Morgana... Who ended up standing directly behind her.
"Sorry I startled you..." Morgana said, blushing slightly.
Sera shook her head and sighed, "It’s all right. Just please don’t do it again. How the heck did ya get away from Speedy, Ami, and the Banshee?"
Morgana moved closer to Sera, making sure to keep low and out of sight from the three senshi, two hovering around Sera’s former host, "I snuck away when the girl with the pink hair blasted you," Sera hissed at that. Morgana put a hand on her shoulder, "Calm down Sera. They might hear you..." Morgana's voice voice sounded nervous at the prospect of being found by the senshi.
Sera nodded in understanding and whispered, "Who was she anyway? She was... cackling. Is there another enemy we don’t know about?"
Morgana shrugged and then all was silent for a few moments as they continued to watch over the three senshi, who were discussing something and looking very solemn. Then both shade warriors heard something in the distance. They exchanged a knowing glance and stealthily moved towards the noises.
When they got to their destination they saw a shuttle, dust coming up from the ground indicating that it had just recently landed. Then the hatch opened and the two peered in from the shadows. From a distance, they could make out at least eight senshi preparing to exit. They could not see Diana from where they were.
Morgana gulped and looked over to Sera, slightly alarmed, "They brought more reinforcements... And at least two of them are the older senshi..."
Sera nodded grimly, "Not even Bauchus would attack with these odds..." Sera let her voice trail off and then she shook her head, "Scratch that. He would,"
Morgana, shaking a little from the prospect of having to take part in another battle whispered urgently, "Let’s head back to the base... I don’t want to do this again,"
Sera nodded, feeling sympathetic for Morgana and realizing that it was in their best interests to get out now, "Right. I can come up with a lie for my weakness for Circe... Besides Baka Bauchus might be neglecting his oh-so-important duties," Sera snickered at that and the two turned and headed back to the shadow’s base...
The Chibi Senshi immediately begin exploring the grounds, Ichi and Hito sticking together, commenting on how bleak the place is. Angela heads straight for the castle, not thinking of possible consequences of what might happen to her. She searches for Samantha and Sarah and finds no trace of them... Only signs of a struggle. The girl runs back out, only to run into Kayla who is preventing her from telling the others what she found.
Meanwhile, Neptune and Pluto have found Mars, Mercury, and Uranus and are trying to figure out just what happened here. Celestial Starshine breaks in and asks if she should transform just as Pluto sees Angela running towards the group at a break neck pace. She suggests they all transform, and does so, then waits to hear whatever Angela is so desperate to tell them.
Angela quickly tells them what happens, and watches as the others begin to transform... She doesn't however, and walks back to the shuttle, thinking she may have come too late...
Pluto and Mars begin discussing how they believe that Sarah and Samantha can't possibly be here, but that they are being held somewhere on the Earth. Just then, Sailor Storm notices that his sister is missing, and soon they all have to turn the search over to her... Callisto begins organizing the search party and soon she has Storm, Aquarius, Mars and Pluto looking for her...
But before they can do anything, Kodia, after getting the communicator from Heion, contacts Pluto. She quickly relays the information about the missing Chibi Senshi, and Kodia in turn tells her what happened at the palace. Then he explains that he read the mind of one of the shades and discovered that the girls are being held somewhere near the Hino Shrine on Earth. Now it is urgent they find Hito so they can get to Crystal Tokyo at once...
Meanwhile, Orchid begins to get a little worried.
'This is ridiculous,' she thought, I should have found them by now.'
She sat down and leaned against a tree. She looked around trying to decide which direction the others must be in. She got up and started retracing her footsteps, but eventually gives up.
"I remember climbing rocks and everything,... Oh how could I be stupid enough to get so far separated from the others?" she chastised herself. An unpleasant thought crossed her mind at this point, 'From what I understand, this is the enemy headquarters, so they're prowlin everywhere... What if I encounter one of them? Or even a group of them? I don't if I'd be able to take them on my own,'
She started off again, eventually coming to the top of a rocky cliff. She carefully crept and continued searching for the others. Eventually she came to the shore, 'Okay... Now I can just follow the shore around until I find the others... we landed near the shore.'
While all this had been going on, Lady Serenity was taking it upon herself to destroy their shuttle! Lady Serenity was about to board her shuttle when she heard a second shuttle landing. She quickly learned just who was on it and decided the safest course would be to become invisible again. As she watched them, she got an idea and steals over to the shuttle.
"I don't want them to follow me back to the palace, so I'll just 'fix' the shuttles they arrived in!" Lady Serenity softly chuckled to herself and enters. She decided that the quickest thing to do would be to damage the flight controls so that they could not pilot the shuttle. She looked around and spies an emergency axe. She grabbed it and with a quick swing, smashes apart the controls for piloting the shuttle.
Then Lady Serenity swiftly ran down the ramp and back to the second shuttle. As she peered inside to see if it too is empty, she saw Diana sleeping on the couch. She softly walked past the sleeping cat and towards the console. She swung the axe again and hears a screech from behind her as Diana woke with a start. The girl dropped the axe on the floor and ran out of the shuttle, passing Diana at the hatch.
"I have to get out of here, now! Before they find my shuttle and leave me stranded here!"
She dashes across the landscape and nearly crashes into a strange new senshi she has never seen before. She stops for a moment to examine the fuku and face of this new girl and is jolted back into her mad dash as she hears the raised voices of the Senshi behind her. She guesses that Diana broke the news to them, that the shuttle is damaged. Spotting her own shuttle a few yards away she practically flies into the cockpit and cackles gleefully as she pilots into the air and off to the palace on the moon.
Sailor Orchid looked after the strange girl with pink hair whom she though might be Lady Serenity in utter confusion... Was everyone around here like this in the past?
And thus chaos reigned the island of Alcatraz...
